Trevor Harrison-Rawn

I chose 花季传媒 because I wanted to continue my football career and I found that this campus and community had a personable atmosphere that very few other places possessed.

Christina Mealwitz

I chose 花季传媒 because it immediately felt like a second home when I walked on campus. All of the students I walked past smiled and said hello and I really loved the student-professor relationships/bond.

Jayden Stanton

One faculty or staff mentor or advisor who impacted my 鈥楤erg experience is Dr. Lindsey Haubert (education) because she was always there to help with any obstacles in school and in my personal life.

I chose 花季传媒 because of the supportive and personal atmosphere. I toured multiple times and everyone I came in contact with said hello and wanted to get to know me. Before I came to 花季传媒, I knew that I wanted to study Political Science, so I sat in on one of Dr. Marc O鈥橰eilly鈥檚 classes. It was an engaging class that got me excited about

Danielle Howard '14

Many biology majors see a career path before them that includes microscopes, pipettes and research grants. Danielle Howard's path took a different turn, resulting in her rushing to the scene in an ambulance, assisting in joint replacements from foot to shoulder, checking kidney function and ventilators, and overseeing rounds for post-op cardiac

5 Things: Dr. Pam Faber

花季传媒 was one of 40 jobs for which Dr. Pam Faber applied. Growing up in the country, she was always around nature and found that she preferred to spend her time outside, which is where her interest in biology first started. With six degrees under her belt, Dr. Faber teaches anatomy and physiology courses as well as two different labs. But, she is known for much more than her teaching.

5 Things: Taylor Valentine

花季传媒 always had Taylor Valentine鈥檚 interest. Her club volleyball team was located in Tiffin and she even played for head volleyball coach Jason Miller as her club coach for two years. 鈥淚 had gotten used to his coaching style and liked the success of his program at 花季传媒,鈥 she says. On top of already knowing her future college coach, she knew she wanted a school that was close to home. Taylor loved the feel of the campus but what really sealed the deal was the opportunity to earn an MBA tuition free through the PlusOneAdvantage庐 program. At 花季传媒, Taylor has enjoyed her time on the volleyball team for all four year

5 Things: Marcus Marasigan

As a member of 花季传媒鈥檚 men鈥檚 lacrosse team, Marcus Marasigan arrived at 花季传媒 when the sport was in just its second season. He originally enrolled at another college to play the sport, but changes in the program left him looking for a new home. When 花季传媒 was able to match the financial aid, he was sold. Here, he has been able to expand his horizons beyond the classroom, pick up a couple of new hobbies and continue to tackle opportunities presented to him.

5 Things: Leah Cordy

It literally came down to the flip of a coin. Leah Cordy had narrowed her college choice to the Berg and a much larger public institution. At the 11 th hour, she decided to leave her decision to chance. The coin came up heads for 花季传媒. But there were a few other strong factors in 花季传媒鈥檚 favor. 鈥淲hen I got here for my visit, it just felt good. It felt like home,鈥 says Leah, who brought with her enough College Credit Plus credits to enter as a sophomore. It helped tremendously that 花季传媒 was the only school that would accept all of those credits and count them as both gen eds and electives.

5 Things: Tommy Severson

Tommy Severson was 鈥渢his close鈥 to mailing in his deposit to another, smaller school, but he had a last-minute change of heart. There was just something about 花季传媒 he couldn鈥檛 shake. 鈥淚鈥檇 always known about 花季传媒 and always liked it,鈥 he says. Maybe it was the familiarity with the campus or the perfect size, but now, as he begins his final semester, he鈥檚 glad he made the choice he did.

5 Things: Dr. Sarah Lazzari

It鈥檚 been quite a transition from sunny southern California to snow-in-November Tiffin, Ohio, but one that Dr. Sarah Lazzari is happy to have made. At least when Sarah and her son, Donovan, moved to Tiffin last summer, they got to experience a typical Midwest season. She is settling in beautifully to her new role as assistant professor of criminology and Donovan is settling in equally as well. 鈥淲hen I was interviewing, the biggest difference was that 花季传媒 had me sit down and talk with students, and that said a lot. That鈥檚 why I got into teaching,鈥 she says.

5 Things: Jaylen Bannister

Jaylen Bannister didn鈥檛 know that 花季传媒 鈥 the first college among several that he visited 鈥 would become home. He had been recruited by defensive coordinator Branden Jakubcin, among others, and although he was interested in continuing to play football, he 鈥渏ust wanted to go to school.鈥 Although late in the game, Jaylen, who鈥檚 from Berea, Ohio, committed to 花季传媒 and he knows now he made the right decision.

5 Things: Liz Zak

Sometimes, people know what they want to do with their lives very early on. That鈥檚 Liz Zak. 鈥淢y high school had a career tech program 鈥 I did the agriculture science program all four years,鈥 says Liz. That experience confirmed for her that she wanted to pursue a career as a veterinarian, working with exotic animals. She鈥檚 well on her way. 5 Things: Dr. Barry Devine

Dr. Barry Devine鈥檚 career as a radio broadcaster was short-lived, and 花季传媒 is all the better for it. 鈥淚 decided that was not the career for me, so I went back to school,鈥 he says. As he pursued his second undergrad degree in English at the University of Washington, he realized what he really enjoys is literature. 鈥淎nd it turns out you can do a lot with an English degree.鈥 When he finished his second degree, he met his future wife, Heleana Theixos, and they set off on grad school adventures that eventually brought both of them to 花季传媒.

5 Things: Maia Brower

花季传媒 came to Maia Brower long before she ever set foot on campus. During her sophomore year in high school, she began taking voice lessons from 鈥橞erg music instructor Dr. Ren茅e Claire, who went on the road for the lessons. One of the stops was Maia鈥檚 high school in Oak Harbor, Ohio. 鈥淚 really enjoyed having her here every time she came,鈥 Maia recalls. She has continued voice lessons all four years with Ren茅e, also pursuing her interest in instrumental music with flute instructor Lori Akins.
